[CHORUS]
There’s so many animals
There’s so many kinds
What is your favorite?
We’ll tell you about mine!
[VERSE]
Cats are furry
Claws so sharp
But not like the jaws on a Great White Shark!
Have you heard of the falcon, known for its speed?
It goes 240 mph and it’s not picky when it feeds
[CHORUS]
There’s so many animals
There’s so many kinds
What is your favorite?
We’ll tell you about mine!
[VERSE]
Armadillos are cute but very strong
Cause they have a shell so nothing goes wrong!
Look up in the tree, do you see those toes?
If you look a little higher, you’ll see that cute Koala Bear nose!

Without any doubt
A way for my voice to be heard

[VERSE 1]
Playing around, breaking the rules
Doing some chores, going to school
Mama says go to bed
I stay up all night
Thinking about what’s in my head
Hoping I don’t catch a fright
While I’m sleeping through the night
[CHORUS (2xs)]
Childhood rocks!
Childhood rules!
If you don’t like it, you’re a fool!
[VERSE 2]
We eat a lot of sweets, while hiding under our sheets Kids are super, super elite
Kids need to be fun, kids need to be loud
Kids need to be very, very proud
Sometimes we get in a fight
But we do what’s right
And then everything’s alright!
[BRIDGE]
You think that being a kid is tough
We think that being grown up is rough
We get to play and slay all day
And this is why we say!

[VERSE 1]
The darkness of the room
White light burns my eyes
Am I in heaven, did I die
Poked and prodded from all sides
[CHORUS]
The bars on my cage
Are no better than a maze
I’m trapped in this rage
Time stills as I age
The days pass by
While I’m stuck in a haze
[VERSE 2]
Someone comes with a syringe
Stressed out, what’s happening to me?
As I’m taken I cringe
Will I survive? There’s no guarantee
[CHORUS]
The bars on my cage
Are no better than a maze
I’m trapped in this rage
Time stills as I age
The days pass by
While I’m stuck in a haze
[BRIDGE - Em Am 4x]

Made fun of anymore
I wish I was better
I wish I was cooler
[CHORUS]
Can I be free?
I wanna be loved
Can I be right?
I wanna be strong
Whoahh
[RAP]
We are the soundtrack breakers
The record makers
Say what you want, you aint gonna fake us
Let alone break us
[VERSE 2]
I’m braver than
The ones who hurt me
I’m kinder than
The ones who desert me
I deserve better
I am better

[VERSE 1]
People walking not stopping
Having a good, good time
But the music’s stopping
My beat is dropping, dropping
The vibes so
It’s time to stand
Just take my hnd
Oh dear a building falling near
[CHORUS 1]
Run, run, run (give or take) 2x
Why did it stop
How did it get this way
But I will try to save the day
[VERSE 2]
Now I see this girl just like me
She likes to dance so I take her hand
And then we stand then I see
She’s young as can be
[CHORUS 2]
Run, run, run into the woods
Why did it stop
How did it get this way
But I will try to save the day
[VERSE 3]
Now we’re running, running towards the woods
Towards the savior
There it is filled with goods
I finally saved her

Summer Camp is back! Support the next generation of rock stars and see brand new DC youth bands share their original music!
Girls Rock! DC’s Summer Camp is a week-long music camp for DC young folks. Campers learn to play an instrument, form a band, write an original song, and perform it at a big concert: this show! Hear from campers about their experience and rock out to their new music.
Girls Rock! DC has been providing music programs for young people to learn, grow, and use the power of their communities since 2008. Working at the intersection of art and activism, their Summer Camps center and uplift girls and non-binary youth, especially Black and Brown youth, and provide spaces for young people to rise up and rock out together.
